Welcome to the Design Thinking modules for students enrolled in my EDUC 767 class. I am excited about these modules because they are intended for students to learn about the stages of Design Thinking will applying them to a problem that interests them. In addition, the modules are further intended to demonstrate the following:

  1. “Flipping” instruction, so students have initial learning experiences outside of the classroom that the instructor then builds off of during the next class meeting;
  2. Developing asynchronous online courses that include student-centered, collaborative learning experiences;
  3. Using educational technologies (edtech) that are external to learning management systems and can be accessed on the web without cost; and,
  4. Integrating frameworks for both designing instruction and blending edtech with content and teaching strategies to produce high-quality, digital learning experiences for students.

You can learn more about who created this course along with its history by clicking on the “About” button, or you can jump right into the modules using the menu on the left of the screen. Also, click the “Resource” button to see the log of all the edtech used in these modules. There’s more information tucked into the website too! Have fun, I hope this is beneficial, and you can always contact me with ideas, questions, and comments about these modules at tcherner@unc.edu.

Let’s get innovative!

(One last thing, though the edtech was free access to when these modules were developed, you will need to create some user accounts.)
